From Times Square to Colorado .. This works.
Read time: ~4 Minutes
My friend,
Have you ever looked back on your life and thought, “How did I get here?”
Personally and professionally, I certainly have.
In fact, reflecting has become a part of my daily routine. Reflecting in gratitude on what was, what is, and where I am going.
I share a stat in my keynote that I find interesting:
We go through change every 12-18 months.
Some big, some small. Some hard! And some wonderful.
It’s all about how you navigate when that change hits!
In 2012, I took my mom and dad to New York over the Holidays. It was mom’s first time.
We walked through Times Square and I remember asking, “Can you imagine being on a billboard in Times Square, mom?” She emphatically replied, “No!!!!”

Fast forward 13-years, and I found myself on a billboard in Times Square. Looking up, I thought about that conversation with mom.
Can you imagine?
Though mom and dad were not there in person, they were in spirit and memory.
Joe, my team, and I created and filmed incredible content while there. Walking through Times Square, I asked people, “What is your challenge today?”
People’s challenges ranged from, “Living in poverty,” and “Leading an authentic life in a world where there’s so much inauthenticity,” to “My challenge is my boss!”
I talked with young professionals, managers, couples, the street sweeper, an Orthodox Rabbi and his sweet daughter, a police officer, those hustling the square, amongst many others.
I can’t wait to share those stories with you ..

And, that brings me here.
If you are facing change and challenge at this moment, try this:
A 4-step framework that has helped me go from challenge to triumph.
- Pause and Assess: Step back to gain clarity. Ask yourself, What’s really happening? Identify the core issue, emotions involved, and potential impacts.
- Focus on What You Can Control: Redirect energy toward actionable areas. Let go of what’s outside your influence and double down on meaningful effort.
- Adapt with Intention: Embrace flexibility, not chaos. Choose your next move with purpose. Whether it’s a mindset shift, a strategic pivot, or a conversation.
- Move Forward, Reflect Often: Take consistent steps while building in time to reflect. Adjust as needed and celebrate progress, no matter how small.
I’ve taught this concept to thousands of people through the past 13-years!!! I’ve used it over and over in my own life. I hope you try it, too.
Because you deserve to experience your best personal and professional life!
(Pssst: Let me know how it goes, please!)
